The new Star Wars plastic model kits for gluing and painting now offer model fans from 10 years of age even more handicraft fun. The modified T-47 Airspeeder manufactured by the Incom Corporation reaches a speed of a good 1100 kilometers per hour by means of an afterburner, but is not suitable for space flight. As one of the most common types of spaceship in the Star Wars galaxy, the T-47 can be found in almost every industrialized world. The T-47, redesigned by the rebels, is known as the Snowspeeder and is used in the battle on the ice planet Hoth to keep the approaching AT-AT in check. The modifications also included technical conversions in order to master the immediate freezing of the drive systems. Thanks to the high speeds, the snowspeeders are difficult to hit. The robust ropes, which were originally intended for the transport of heavy loads and were used effectively against the AT-ATs, are fired with harpoons. The pilot, who shares the cockpit back-to-back with the shooter, can, if necessary, take over the complete gun control in addition to the navigation.
